The boiling water thing? For some reason, kids have that kind of patience. I was that kid once. Especially 'cause Mom had one Pyrex saucepan that was CLEAR. Dude, that was the coolest. Watching the bubbles was a treat. You know, you don’t have to have her near a stove…you can do microwave things and loads of other things, so you’re on the right track.

I am not so good sometimes about letting her do it all on her own, but I still havea problem with her and hot stoves. Still, she mixes batter and stirs oatmeal.
